It’s official…the Food Bank of South Jersey has delivered more than 300,000 MEALS to children in need through our Summer Meals program!
Thanks to the support of countless volunteers, sponsors, and dedicated staff, we’re successfully ensuring that children in South Jersey have sustainable access to nutritious meals each and every, all summer long.
But we’re not finished yet! We still have 200,000 more meals to make in order to hit our goal of delivering a half a million meals to 8,000 kids in need this summer season!
Why is it so important to hit this goal?
With nearly 57,000 children struggling with food insecurity in South Jersey today, the summer months often become a time of stress and concern for where they may find their next meal because when school ends for the year, so do the free and reduced cost school meal programs that these kids rely on to ease their hunger pangs.
There are three more weeks of vacation left before many schools begin to open for the year, meaning that there is still time to make a difference!
YOU can help us make a difference for the thousands of kids and parents who rely on this program. To find out how you can VOLUNTEER or SPONSOR a Summer Meals Site visit the link here: www.foodbanksj.org/summermeals
