“It was so wonderful to work with you. The Food Bank of South
Jersey was one of my favorite sites to go to this summer. It is so
professional, inviting, organized, and clean! I really appreciated
all the time and effort you put into making our experience so successful”
Rebecca
Miller, Mission Fuge

“I volunteer because it allows me to make a difference
in a very small, but very much needed way. It was startling
to learn that so many people, especially children, go to bed hungry
every night. Working with the staff at the Food Bank of
South Jersey has been a great way to learn about the incredibly valuable work they
are doing in our South Jersey communities helping to feed
our neighbors in distress. My FBSJ experience has inspired me to
volunteer at 2 other local foods banks in Camden County as well.
It's my pleasure to be a volunteer at the Food Bank of South Jersey!”
Martha
Caldwell-Bates, Collingswood Presbyterian Church Group

“Volunteering
at the food bank has provided me the good fortune to feel good about
myself by helping others and doing my small part to give back to
the community. Volunteering some of one's time
is the most rewarding way anyone can hope to make a positive difference
to their community. It is also a great way to meet other like-minded
folks that share a commitment to making the community we all live
in a better place. As the saying goes, " It takes a village
to raise a child", and everyone should be willing and able to
do their small part. The Food Bank of South Jersey has provided
me a multitude of opportunities, from sorting food donations, to
working on corporate outreach programs. All of which benefit
the mission of the Food Bank in feeding the hungry of South Jersey,
which I can say I am a part of.”
Gary Barber, Individual Volunteer

“The kids expressed how it was cool to help other families
in need and did not realize how many people the food bank actually
helps. I was excited for them.”
Lois Marks, Family Services Yates Center

“The
principle of serving others has never pierced the hearts of my teenagers
more than when we volunteered at the South Jersey Food Bank. We had
simple tasks of stuffing boxes with hygiene products and separating
food into boxes, but the youth understood that the impact of their
work reached much farther than the warehouse. We were honored to
have had a part in touching the lives of those who are struggling
financially in hopes that in return, those who were blessed will
also bless the life of somebody else.”
Chuck Smith, Youth Pastor, New Beginnings Church
