PENNSAUKEN, NJ – The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) is pleased to announce that Charles Hosier and Lavinia Awosanya have been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Development Officer (CDO), respectively. The promotion took effect March 1.
“It gives me great pleasure to officially welcome Charles and Lavinia to the executive team,” said Fred Wasiak, President & CEO, Food Bank of South Jersey. “Their demonstrated leadership and exemplary service on behalf of our organization’s mission will certainly poise us for growth as we work to solve the hunger crisis in South Jersey.”
As COO, Hosier will oversee all aspects of operations, including employee and food safety compliance, inventory control, distribution, programs and services, health and wellness and food procurement. Previously, Hosier served as the FBSJ’s Director of Operations, a position he held for three years. Prior to this, he served as General Manager for a large food processing company in South Jersey. A Pennsauken resident, he holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University in Camden, NJ.
In her new role as CDO, Awosanya will advance the FBSJ’s mission by leading the fund development, marketing and community relations strategies. She will also oversee and direct all aspects of major gift cultivation, and provide general oversight of all development and volunteer activities. Awosanya joined the FBSJ in 2014 as the Manager of Special events and most recently served as Director of Strategic Partnerships where she headed up corporate partnerships for key fundraising initiatives, including the Food Bank Hunger Games, the annual fundraising gala Viva South Jersey and Summer Meals Program. Her earlier experience includes working in London and New York for one of the world’s leading beauty and skincare brands as part of their sales and management team.
She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing (graduated Cum Laude) from DeVry University. Awosanya, of Lumberton, has received recognition for her professionalism and commitment to the community, including a 2017 Emerging Leader in Burlington County.
