PENNSAUKEN, NEW JERSEY (March 3, 2021) – Lockheed Martin is helping the Food Bank of South Jersey, the region’s largest hunger-relief organization in its 36th year of feeding South Jersey, expand its capacity to fight food insecurity. On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, the Food Bank of South Jersey received a $80,000 donation from Lockheed Martin to help fight hunger throughout the region. This donation will directly support the food bank’s mission to provide safe and nutritional food to people in need throughout South Jersey.
The Food Bank of South Jersey provides food to people in need, delivers health and wellness programs, and designs sustainable solutions to help people improve their lives. During 2020, the Food Bank of South Jersey distributed more than 22.5 million pounds of food, the equivalent of over 18.7 million meals, as well as nearly one million children’s meals and more than one million emergency food boxes distributed throughout 58 communities in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties.

Lockheed Martin has given over $1.2 million to support the Philadelphia and South Jersey community from the COVID-19 impact. Additionally, Lockheed Martin has donated more than $21.9 million to support front line workers and first responders, public school students’ access to technology, access to food, community foundations’ ability to address local needs, and military service members.
During 2020, the Food Bank of South Jersey served more than 95,000 people every month and accelerated food assistance operations to directly respond to the impact of COVID-19 on the hunger crisis in South Jersey.
