Hunger Action Month 2024

Talking Points:

  • The Food Bank of South Jersey is the largest provider of emergency food assistance in South Jersey. We’ve been helping to feed our neighbors since 1985, serving residents of South Jersey in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester and Salem counties.
  • Hunger impacts every community in our country. Right now, 1 in 10 people and 1 in 7 children in our region do not get enough healthy, nutritious food to thrive.
  • Currently, the Food Bank of South Jersey is serving more than 170,000 people a month – that’s more than the pandemic
  • When prices go up, so does food insecurity. People in South Jersey are making impossible decisions between paying important bills or buying food to feed their families.
  • We are on a journey to change hunger in South Jersey to ensure no one goes to bed hungry
  • There are many ways you can join this journey: Just $50 can provide 100 meals for our neighbors facing need. You can also volunteer your time to help serve our neighbors. We also need advocates to take action by signing Feeding America’s petition for robust anti-hunger programs like SNAP and the Farm Bill, as well as spreading the word.
