Many seniors in South Jersey face the impossible choice of how best to use their money – should they pay for housing, medicine, utilities, transportation, or food? Far too often the choice to pay for food becomes the lowest priority.

FBSJ served more than 96,000 seniors in 2022 and is now offering a new program that aims to serve even more in 2023.

SNRS –  Senior Nutrition Resource Supplement

The mission of the SNRS program is to supply nutritious supplemental food to low-income seniors who are 60 years of age or older and self declare that they need for food assistance. The monthly food distribution provides approximately a two-week supply of groceries based on a senior’s nutritional needs, including shelf-stable items as well as fresh produce and dairy.

To qualify, seniors must be 60 years of age or older, provide proof of New Jersey residency, and self-declare the need for food assistance.
