The Food Bank of South Jersey addresses both the urgent problem of hunger and its underlying causes by providing food assistance, nutrition education, and pathways to stability. Our Center for Health, Wellness, and Nutrition (CHWN) deepens this work by connecting neighbors to partnerships and services that address the social determinants of health and food insecurity in order to create healthy, thriving futures.
Key features of the 20,856-square-foot facility will include:
- A community training kitchen and classroom
- Onsite greenhouse and wellness garden
- SNAP Help Center and resource connection
- Dedicated space for programming and partner services

The Center offers hands-on, evidence-based programs that help individuals and families make lasting lifestyle changes and help reduce food waste, while also connecting neighbors with resources that address the social drivers of health.

- Cooking Matters for Families
Parents and children build cooking and shopping skills together. Each family receives ingredients to prepare meals at home. - A Taste of African Heritage
This culturally inspired series supports health and food traditions through shared cooking and nutrition learning. - Food and Finance
Participants gain skills in healthy meal planning, grocery budgeting, and smart shopping.
