PENNSAUKEN, N.J.  December 3, 2025 – The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) is preparing to open its 20,856-square-foot Center for Health, Wellness, and Nutrition, made possible in part by a $250,000 grant presented today by Bank of America. The Center is designed to tackle the interconnected challenges that lead to food insecurity, providing the resources, education, and skills neighbors need to create long-term wellbeing.

“We share the Food Bank of South Jersey’s mission to bridge food access and nutrition by addressing the root causes of hunger and poor health, which is why we directed this strategic philanthropic investment to help build stronger communities,” said Jim Dever, president, Bank of America Greater Philadelphia. “This philanthropic capital, along with business, consumer lending, and local investments reflects our commitment to creating economic opportunity across Southern New Jersey.”

Recognizing that financial stability is integral to overall well-being, FBSJ is also partnering with Bank of America to provide financial literacy and wellness courses along with workforce development and job readiness through programs such as AED Heartsaver training, food safety certifications including ServSafe, and FBSJ’s YNOT youth program. Together, these services create a holistic support system that empowers clients to not only meet their immediate food needs but also to build healthier, more stable, and more resilient futures.
