As Published in The Burlington County Times By Danielle DeSisto Staff Writer | October 13, 2017 | PENNSAUKEN — The Food Bank of South Jersey is hosting events and collecting items for needy families in preparation for the holiday season.

The annual Viva South Jersey gala to benefit the Food Bank’s hunger relief programs will be held on Nov. 4 at the Crowne Plaza on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. There will be a live and silent auction, music and charitable gambling. More information is available at foodbanksj.org/vivaSJ.

Residents can drop off frozen turkeys at the nonprofit’s headquarters at 1501 John Tipton Blvd. in Pennsauken during the “Turkey Drop” event on Nov. 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Side items such as canned cranberry sauce, boxed stuffing andr mashed potato mix also will be accepted.

The Food Bank is encouraging local businesses and residents to host food drives of their own to help neighbors in need. Resources on how to get started are available at foodbanksj.org/fooddrive.
