State Farm and Food Bank of South Jersey Team Up to Help Families
An insurance company stepped up to the plate to help make sure families in need in our area get the food they deserve. Volunteers from State Farm lent a helping hand to the Food Bank of South Jersey in Glassboro on Thursday, September 20th, to help distribute food donations to families in need.
State Farm representatives also presented an $8,000 check donation to help support the Food Bank of South Jersey’s Hope Mobile Program, a mobile food pantry that brings critical resources to individuals living in areas known as “food deserts.”
Officials say the Food Bank would not be able to do the work that they do without the support from the community and sponsors like State Farm.
“Without the support of the Food Bank and again our sponsors like State Farm, we don’t know what would happen to these families,” said Lavina Awosanya, director of strategic partnerships at Food Bank of South Jersey. “Many of them just don’t know where their next meal is coming from that’s the reason why the work we do is so crucial.”
