Looking for ways to volunteer for the Food Bank of South Jersey outside of our offices, distributions, or classrooms? We have a great virtual opportunity for you! Become an ambassador on social media – it’s an easy way to help the Food Bank and further our impact on South Jersey on your schedule.
Social Media Ambassadors help us spread the word about our events, partners, fundraisers, and other opportunities. Join us to like, comment, and share news, updates, and stories of impact on social media to help drive our message – and mission! – to a broader audience.
Our Ambassadors are:
- Passionate about supporting South Jersey and the mission of the Food Bank to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry
- Respected in their community
- Able to post directly on social media at least two times a month (sample posts and guidelines will be provided to engage followers and encourage them to participate)
What we are asking Ambassadors to do:
- Follow FBSJ on your favorite social media platforms
- Share posts from the @FoodBankSJ account on your own wall, feed, stories, channels, etc.
- Tell your story about why you’re on a journey to change hunger in South Jersey and/or what you love about FBSJ
- Use a certain hashtag when encouraged to do so
At least once a month, you will receive social media copy and images with the latest and most urgent campaigns and/or messaging that could use more traction. You’ll be asked to post those messages, tag @FoodBankSJ on whatever platform(s) you decide to share them on, and use the #FeedSJ hashtag.
The Food Bank will provide you with branding, copy, and graphics to post on social media, but should you decide that you want to do a quick post, story, or video to alert your followers of opportunities, feel free to read the copy we provide or create your own in your voice. The estimated time commitment is 15 minutes per month!
As Ambassadors, you agree that you are representing the Food Bank of South Jersey brand, and in doing so, you agree not to post inappropriate material or post information about us to inappropriate websites. As a ‘Thank You’, you will receive:
- One of our signature FBSJ t-shirts after 6 months of service
- Recognition with links to your public social media accounts on our Social Media Ambassadors page and our social accounts
- The intangible feeling of doing good and making our community stronger!
