FOOD BANK OF SOUTH JERSEY NAMED A TOP 2024 WORKPLACE

(Pennsauken, New Jersey) February 22, 2024 – The Food Bank of South Jersey has been recognized as one of the Top Workplaces 2024 by NJ.com. The award is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

The Energage survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling Respected & Supported, Enabled to Grow, and Empowered to Execute, to name a few.

“We are honored to be included on this list of Top Workplaces, but we are even more thrilled that we are creating a culture of belonging and inclusiveness that keeps our employees engaged and dedicated to serving our communities,” said the Food Bank of South Jersey’s Chief People Officer Janet Kotsakis. “Building relationships is at the core of our work, and making meaningful connections, both internally and externally, lies at the heart of our mission.”

The Food Bank of South Jersey’s vital mission is to provide an immediate solution to the urgent problem of hunger. Its core values – versatility, collaboration, service, dedication, inclusion, and integrity – helps it serve more than 170,000 neighbors each month across 60 communities in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem counties in New Jersey.

“The last few years have been some of the most impactful in our history, and it is the dedication of our employees and the organizational culture we have built together and that has allowed us to thrive in challenging times,” said Fred Wasiak, President and CEO of the Food Bank.

An emphasis on emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and self-care has helped transform the culture of the Food Bank, particularly in this time of heightened need faced since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
