FEED SOUTH JERSEY

Together, we can pave the way for a more prosperous future and create a community where everyone can thrive.

For nearly 40 years, the Food Bank of South Jersey has offered an immediate solution to the urgent problem of hunger by providing food to people in need, teaching them to eat nutritiously, and helping them find sustainable ways to improve their lives. FBSJ goes beyond addressing one avenue of need, seeking to tackle the implications of food insecurity and usher in a new narrative of a thriving, stable community where neighbors have the opportunities and ability to live healthy, fulfilling lives.

One Purpose, Three Initiatives:

Creating a shared space for our community
FBSJ is shaping a dedicated space for health and wellness that will empower individuals to make connections and enhance health outcomes for future generations.
Expanding hunger-relief initiatives
As food insecurity rises, FBSJ will broaden its reach and services to better support the community and improve access to healthy, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food.
Planning and preparing for the future
FBSJ is a vital part of the community and must be prepared to face future challenges of food insecurity and overcome any obstacles that come its way.

BUILDING A SPACE FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Campaign goal: $500,000

Your opportunity: Join us in building a space where neighbors come together to improve their overall wellness and build pathways for future generations to create healthier lives.

Expanding Capacity to Meet Growing Needs

With an increased interest in health and wellness education and outcomes demonstrating that these services positively impact community health, FBSJ acquired a new building. When opened, this space will bring the Health and Wellness team together to better serve our neighbors. The space will include a teaching kitchen, spaces for community listening sessions, and much more. The additional 20,000+ square foot building will also free up room in FBSJ’s current facility to store and distribute an additional 1.5 million pounds of food to meet the growing demand.

EXPAND HUNGER-RELIEF INITIATIVES

Campaign goal: $800,000

Your opportunity: Strengthen our reach to more South Jersey neighbors, especially our most vulnerable populations.

Increased Need

The pandemic raised levels of need across the region, but not only have these levels not subsided, they have increased. FBSJ will build new solutions that increase access to healthy, nutritious, and appropriate food that reaches people in their own communities. In order to reach all impacted neighbors in the four-county service area of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem counties, FBSJ will partner with more community-based organizations as well as expand services to better serve our communities through current agency partners.

Growing Demand

SOUTH JERSEY HUNGER RELIEF FUND

Campaign goal: $700,000

Your opportunity: Support the organizational viability of the Food Bank for future generations.

Proactive & Prepared

The Food Bank of South Jersey is an integral part of the community, bearing the responsibility to deliver nutritious food to residents in urgent need while examining the root causes of food insecurity. Future challenges will emerge, as will the need to innovate and build new systems to meet the needs of our neighbors. Rather than waiting for an emergency to occur, FBSJ must be proactive and prepared for inevitable uncertainties.

Sustainability for the Future

With the South Jersey Hunger Relief Fund, FBSJ is making the ultimate commitment to its beloved community by building the capital that ensures its continued existence for years to come. Motivated by the organization’s core values, the Fund will ensure financial stability and allow timely and proactive responses when crisis strikes.
